Tryouts are open to all female athletes, regardless of whether you played House, Rep or in another association last year. As we did last year, there will be a $20 tryout fee. Players may apply the fee towards their 2008 registration fees or they can receive an NVGSA Fireball t-shirt for participating. Players must register for the tryouts so that we can ensure we have enough evaluators and t-shirts on hand.

Stars Bantam Coach Position

The NVGSA is still accepting applications for Head Coach of the Bantam Stars rep team.

The core of this team will include players from the Stars 2006 Squirt B Provincial Champions and the 2008 BC Summer Games team.  Any interested coaches should contact Sue Hokanson (Rep Coordinator, 604-209-5052, hokanson5052@shaw.ca) and submit their application through the web site.  Ideally, they should plan to participate in the Rep tryouts.

Fall Pitching Clinic

Registration is open for the Fall Pitching clinic starting in October, 2008.

This is a comprehensive pitching clinic with emphasis on mechanics and strength development leading to fast, accurate pitching. This clinic is suitable for all levels from beginner to advanced, and all age levels from Mite to Jr Ladies. We especially encourage House league pitchers to attend this clinic. Choose from Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday session times; pitchers will be grouped by age and ability.  Please contact Peter Powell (Assistant Head Coach, 604-988-0311, gppollock@telus.net) if you have any questions.

If a team has more than one player registered in the Fall Pitching Clinic, each player will receive a credit of $20.00 towards their 2009 registration fee.  Players who wish become catchers are also encouraged to attend this clinic to catch for their pitcher(s); catchers may attend at no cost, and we will be trying to include some catcher instruction where possible.
